RISE with SAP
What it is
SAP's bundled offering for moving to and running S/4HANA Cloud (private or public edition) as a managed subscription. It assumes — and rewards — a clean core so SAP can deliver continuous updates.
Why it matters for Clean Core
RISE is often the commercial reason Clean Core suddenly matters to a customer: the managed-update model only works smoothly if custom code is upgrade-stable. Clean Core readiness is, in practice, RISE readiness.
Common pitfall
Treating a RISE migration as a pure lift-and-shift. The hosting changes, but the custom-code debt comes with you — the cloud-readiness remediation is the part that actually unlocks the continuous-update benefit.
